Eurythmics – Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) (Extended Remix) 🕶️🌀 [1983]

The Story: Released in 1983, "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" turned Eurythmics into global superstars and defined the sound of 80s synth-pop. This Extended Remix expands on the original track, letting the famous electronic bassline and Annie Lennox's striking vocals stretch out into a hypnotic, multi-minute journey. Behind the Song: An Accidental Riff: The famous synth beat was created by accident when Dave Stewart messed with a synthesizer and accidentally hit a button that flipped the bass sequence upside down. A Darker Meaning: Annie Lennox wrote the lyrics during a tough period of depression and uncertainty, reflecting a cynical look at ambition and the things people chase. MTV Icons: The music video—featuring Lennox with her signature orange hair and a boardroom cow—became an instant classic and helped define 80s visual culture. The Vibe: Hypnotic & Electronic: Driven by heavy synths and a sharp, mechanical beat. Edgy & Timeless: A pioneering new wave track that still sounds futuristic. ✨ Atmospheric Escape: This track drops you straight onto a neon-lit, empty dancefloor at midnight, letting you get completely lost in the pulse of the 80s underground. #83Music #80sSynthPop #Eurythmics #SweetDreams #ExtendedRemix #12InchMix #NewWave #MusicHistory #SynthWave
