Pascal Siakam’s 2025 EdTech Accelerator | Startups Transforming Education

Take a look back at the 2025 Siakam EdTech Engine Accelerator, an initiative created through a collaboration between the PS43 Foundation and DMZ at Toronto Metropolitan University to support startups working to transform education. The inaugural accelerator brought together six EdTech startups developing solutions across AI-powered learning, digital literacy, reading support, educational technology, and play-based learning. At the 2025 Demo Day, founders presented their solutions to educators, investors, technology leaders, and a panel of judges that included NBA Champion and PS43 Foundation founder Pascal Siakam. Cyber Legends earned first place and $30,000 in grant funding, followed by Shuriii with $15,000 and English Islands with $5,000. Throughout the accelerator, participating startups received programming, coaching, hands-on workshops, mentorship, and opportunities to connect with educators and school boards to help strengthen their solutions. The initiative reflects the PS43 Foundation’s commitment to education and creating opportunities for young people by supporting innovative ideas that can improve how students learn.
