A rat got into this vintage toy collection, and the damage is worse than you would ever want to find when opening a box of childhood toys. In this episode of Toy Federation, a huge vintage collection comes into the shop packed with Star Wars, Micronauts, Space: 1999, G.I. Joe, Planet of the Apes, Battlestar Galactica, Mego, Evel Knievel, Buck Rogers, Tron, Clash of the Titans, Black Hole, Flash Gordon, and more. At first, it looks like an amazing time capsule from the 1970s and 1980s: old carrying cases, Sears-exclusive Star Wars items, vintage carded figures, loose action figures, playsets, vehicles, accessories, catalogs, and parts that could help bring other toys back to life. Then we start finding the damage. Some of these vintage toys had been chewed by rats. Plastic is damaged, pieces are missing, parts are broken, and there are items that may never be worth restoring. That is the rough side of buying old toy collections: one rare part can change the value of a whole playset, but one animal, one bad storage situation, or one missing accessory can do the opposite. Ryan and Travis go through the collection piece by piece to figure out what can be saved, what can be repaired, what needs replacement parts, and what is simply too far gone. There is still a lot of incredible vintage Star Wars in this haul. We find a clean Sears Cloud City playset, Star Wars carrying cases, Dagobah playset pieces, a blue Snaggletooth, early Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, R2-D2, C-3PO, Stormtroopers, a Tauntaun, an Imperial Troop Transport, micro collection pieces, die-cast vehicles, carded figures, and accessories that make a huge difference to collectors. We also uncover parts for the Sears Cantina, Land of the Jawas, a Darth Vader case, and other old Kenner Star Wars toys that are still worth rescuing. Outside of Star Wars, this collection is full of vintage sci-fi toys we rarely see in one place. There are Space: 1999 Eagle Transporter and Moonbase Alpha pieces, Micronauts figures and vehicles, vintage Mego toys, Planet of the Apes figures, G.I. Joe, Evel Knievel motorcycles, GoBots, Battlestar Galactica toys, Black Hole figures, Buck Rogers, Mr. T, Dick Tracy, Tron, Clash of the Titans, and even a strange Star Trek marshmallow shooter. Some items are incomplete. Some are rare but difficult to sell. Some have surprising value even with damage. And some are just too cool to leave behind. That is what makes vintage toy hunting so addictive. Every box can have a missing piece that completes a playset, a figure that survived decades in great condition, or a damaged toy with a story you could never make up. This collection had all of that, including the kind of rat damage every collector hopes they never find in their own attic, garage, storage unit, or childhood toy box.
