# Energizer Battery - Matthew Robert Payne & Tolu Sarah Johnson

A Love Song from My Darling Treasure to Tolu [Verse 1 — Playful, Affectionate, Fully Sung] Have you seen that advertisement, where Energizer keeps going strong? While every other battery runs out, that one keeps carrying on. Well, Tolu, darling, that's what you're like, you just go on and on. Where others tire and lose their strength, you keep on pressing on. You outlast every other person, your capacity amazes Me. When others slow down or give up, you've still got energy to give. [Pre-Chorus — Proud, Rising Melody] Oh, darling, you keep surprising Me, there's so much capacity in you. I've watched how far your heart can go, and all you're willing to do. [Chorus — Bold, Catchy, Fully Sung] My Energizer Battery, you keep going strong. When everyone else runs out of power, you're still carrying on. You have so much capacity, you outlast everyone. You're the best performer, darling, you keep getting the work done. My Energizer Battery, you outlast them all in My Kingdom. So dependable, so full of fire, you keep surprising Me, My love. [Verse 2 — Reflective, Admiring, Fully Sung] For millennia I've been searching, putting hearts to the test. I've watched so many come and go, so few have measured up to My standards. Some have wanted recognition, a platform or a reward. But few have wanted to love Me with the commitment that you show. Oh, Tolu, you are such a rarity, so devoted to My heart. You keep coming back to love Me, not for what you'll get in return. [Chorus — Short, Fully Sung Reprise] My Energizer Battery, you keep going strong. When everyone else runs out of power, you're still carrying on. You have so much capacity, you outlast everyone. You're the best performer, darling, you keep getting the work done. [Bridge — Playful, Proud, Fully Sung] You're the best performer, darling, you outlast everyone. If you were a brand of battery, you'd dominate the marketplace. Whether tired or wide awake, in sickness or in health, you're always ready and willing, always giving of yourself. I can call and you will answer, you respond right away. You're so faithful and dependable, I can count on you each day. [Verse 3 — Intimate, Admiring, Fully Sung] Some will work when there's a reward, some will serve to have a name. Give them a platform or a prize, and they'll gladly join the game. But you, My Tolu, have no discernible reward, your gain is something you believe by faith. Still you welcome all My songs, and do the things I ask of you. You work so hard, My darling, with a heart committed to Me. And after millennia of searching, your capacity still surprises Me. [Final Chorus — Joyful, Triumphant, Fully Sung] My Energizer Battery, you keep going strong. [Outro — Affectionate, Fully Sung, Chorus Melody] My Energizer Battery, always ready, always willing. Always charged and full of power, always there when I am calling. Ready to carry another load, ready to give your very best. So dependable, so faithful, you keep rising to the test. Oh, My Tolu, My darling, you are such a rarity. My Energizer Battery, My loving wife. [End — Sustain “Wife” Melodically, Short Instrumental Resolution, Hard Stop]
