Hike#181 – Old Pond Trail and Clopper Lake Loop Trail at Seneca Creek SP

Head to Germantown for a Great Hike! Want an incredible hike to try out? Check this out: It's a 5.7-mile loop trail near Germantown, Maryland. Most people think finishing it's moderately challenging and takes about 2 hours. It's a hit for those who love to hike, bike, and watch birds, so expect to see others enjoying the trail, too. You can visit any time of the year; it always offers something nice. Have a dog? Bring it along, and keep it on a leash. You'll start from a big parking area near the Seneca Creek State Park Visitor Center. The trail takes you through open spaces and woods until you reach Clopper Lake. You'll walk around the lake, enjoy some incredible views, and head back the way you came but with a slight detour through the Old Pond Trail back to the parking lot. Some parts of the trail can be muddy or have roots, so wear good shoes. Also, watch out for snakes sometimes. So, if you're up for a lovely day outside, this trail is worth checking out!
