Her head hurts, her throat hurts, and it's pouring with rain outside — but the pharmacy is only at the end of the street, so off she goes with Filou, who has strong opinions about getting wet. Follow her there and back, and pick up 40 French words on the way. Every sentence is said twice. First slowly, broken into small pieces, so you can hear each word on its own. Then once at normal French speed, the way a French person actually says it — run together, with the endings swallowed. That second time is the important one: understanding real French speed is what trips up almost every beginner, and almost nobody practises it directly. There is no English sentence on screen at any point. Instead, the one or two words you're least likely to know appear on the right, with their English, at the exact moment they're spoken. Everything else you work out yourself — which is how the words actually stick. This is A1, and it's the vocabulary you genuinely need if you ever get ill in France.
