Man With STOMACHE ACHE Walks Through Dukezong Ancient Town — Shangri-La, Yunnan Province, China 🇨🇳

On 17 December 2001, the town of Gyaithang was officially renamed to Shangri-La. On 11 January 2014, a fire broke out at a hotel in the middle of the night, burning down over 250 buildings and displacing 2,600 residents. In December that year, Shangri-La was upgraded to a county-level city, moving along efforts to bring tourism to the area. The city was rapidly rebuilt to modern standards, with most of the facades carefully emulating Tibetan architecture. Here it is now.
