"My daughter, Evi, had a tough year last year. At school she got a lucky doll, which she called Simon and could leave in her pocket whenever she had to do something she didn’t like or felt insecure about. She decided to write letters to Simon in a notebook about everything she was unsure about or feared and I thought it was great that she never did that secretly. Apparently, our home felt safe enough. For me as a father that is the most beautiful thing there is. I want nothing more than for our home to be a place where all insecurities and fears are safe. Where Evi is loved no matter what. I wanted to make a song about it and the only way to do that was to write a letter to Simon myself, titled, ‘Dear Simon’."
