Every year, contractors find out in January what they should have known in November. But by then, the retention isn't getting released before February, change orders will remain unsigned, and cash you are counting on to close out the year won't be there.
This session is about finding out problems now. What you expect to collect and what project records support are rarely the same number, and the difference usually comes down to a few tweaks you can still make if you do them now: incomplete pay apps, unapproved change orders, missing lien waivers, preliminary notice deadlines, and paperwork that doesn't back up the billing.
Josh Luebker (SPM, The Construction CFO) and Amy Houk (National Lien Services & RCS Preliminary Lien Services) will walk through actual project scenarios from various sides of painting the financial picture and the lien-rights right now. You'll learn how to target where your year-end AR is and what you can do about it.
You'll learn how to:
Know what you can realistically collect before year-end
Find what's holding payment up
Make the call while you still have options
Format: 40-minute discussion followed by 20 minutes of live audience Q&A. Bring your questions.
