WNBA Legends REACT To The Caitlin Clark Assist Record You Completely MISSED!

July 2024, Dallas. A rookie point guard put up 19 assists in a single game — the most anyone has recorded in WNBA history — along with 24 points and six rebounds, and played all 40 minutes without sitting once. The Fever had 26 assists as a team that night. Nineteen of them were hers. Seventy-three percent of everything her team created, from one first-year player. The record she broke belonged to Courtney Vandersloot: 18, set in 2020, in her tenth professional season, by a two-time champion and five-time All-Star whose entire career was built on exactly this skill. It was supposed to stand for a long time. And the 19th didn’t come on a throwaway possession in a blowout. Indiana was behind with a little over two minutes left, Clark drove, the defense collapsed the way it always does, and she kicked it to Kelsey Mitchell for three. She wasn’t hunting the record. She was trying to win the game. Then Dallas won 101-93, and the loss swallowed the whole thing. A 30-foot three is a six-second clip. A 19-assist game is nineteen quiet acts of creation spread across forty minutes, and you can’t compress that into something shareable. No viral moment, and a loss. Two strikes against its own fame. ⚠️ Two honest notes, both of which the video makes itself. No WNBA legend sat down and formally reacted to this specific game — what Sue Bird and Dawn Staley have done on the record is explain the skill that made it possible, and that’s how their words are used here. And “you completely missed it” is a bit of an exaggeration: plenty of people saw the game, it was reported, the box score is right there. What’s true is that it never became famous. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 🏀 WATCH NEXT WNBA Coaches REACT To Caitlin Clark’s 333 Assists →    • WNBA Coaches REACT To Caitlin Clark's 333 ...   WNBA Legends REACT To Caitlin Clark’s UNREAL Passing Ability →    • WNBA Legends REACT To Caitlin Clark’s INSA...   🔔 SUBSCRIBE →    / @thetrophylifeyt   💬 Did you know about this game before today, or did you miss it too?
