Yet what they deemed an ambush was a snare already spun, For Carthaginian ranks reformed, and thus the trap was won. Pikemen met with pikemen, whilst hoplites hammered shields, And noble shock cavalry swept wide across the blood-soaked fields. In double envelopment they wheeled with thunderous, deadly grace, Breaking both Spartan hosts apart and crushing rank by rank their brace. The elephant general gave his life to buy the precious breath, His sacrifice stayed Sparta's steel and bought his brethren's death. Two thousand two hundred sixty-four Carthaginians held the field, Whilst four thousand eight hundred eighty Spartan warriors were felled. #TotalWarRome2 #TotalWarBattles #PrawaremeidOnTwitch #HistoricalWarfare #StrategyGaming #Singleplayer
