At around 09:05 pm on Thursday 26th September, 2019, 27 year old Christopher Nicole who was known as chris had been spending his evening doing daddy duties with his young, children, a son and daughter. Their ages were five and six years old. Laughing, watching tv and drawing in his flat on maple road in the greenock area of Inveclyde , a dangerous stranger had forced his way into chris home. The man responsible for the brutal m of chris had armed himself with a blade and was intent on forcing chris to give up a large stash of cash, he mistakenly thought had been placed at the flat. There was no evidence or even suggestion that Christopher Nicol was a dealer or part of any well known gang that operated in greenock According to dci Martin Fergus the m was described as v!olent and horrid. In a way that changed a ton of lives. According to witnesses the man responsible had teeth that were decaying and some were missing. Minutes before the 45 year old Steven bryceland had made his way into the flat chris shared with his girlfriend., the devoted dad had been watching his children playing with colouring books in the living room Once Steven bryceland had entered the home and gone into the living room, Steven had forced chris and his partner ms Lowe to keep still. Chris was said to have been stunned when he looked into the face of a sullen and colourless face of Steven bryceland. In the end ms Lowe ran to the cupboard and took out £200 and handed it to Steven byceland. After Steven left, ms Lowe then locked the door shut Before walking out of the front door, Steven turned to the children and ms Lowe and said sorry. In order to get the children our of he flat ms Lowe placed a tea towel over their heads as a neighbour whom had heard the shouting had rushed to the flat and performed cpr on an unresponsive chris. Sadly there was nothing any one could do for Christopher and he was soon pronounced dead Steven bryceland was jailed for life with a minimum term of 17 years. when Steven left the house he said sorry and left with the £200
