New information from Boruto manga artist Mikio Ikemoto reveals that Himawari originally sought out Sarada for training and guidance before eventually training alongside Team 10. However, Sarada's continued support of Boruto and Sasuke following Omnipotence created a serious problem. Chocho, Inojin, and Shikadai strongly encouraged Himawari to distance herself from Sarada. That completely changes how Himawari's early scenes in Boruto Two Blue Vortex can be viewed. Despite having her memories altered by Omnipotence, Himawari never completely accepted that Boruto murdered Naruto and Hinata. Her instincts continued telling her something about Boruto was wrong, while Sarada was openly telling Konoha that Boruto was innocent and Kawaki was lying. Had Himawari continued training under Sarada, those new experiences potentially could have created another anchor against Omnipotence. However, Team 10 should not necessarily be viewed as villains. Before Omnipotence changed their memories, Shikadai, Inojin, and Chocho secretly listened as Kawaki was questioned about Naruto's disappearance. They had every reason to suspect Kawaki. Once Omnipotence reversed Boruto and Kawaki's positions and Ada announced that Boruto murdered Naruto, their previous suspicions were redirected toward Boruto. From their perspective, keeping Naruto's daughter away from someone constantly defending Naruto's supposed killer was protecting Himawari. For Sarada, however, it meant losing another connection to Boruto.
