He took a year out of university to build this. He won a £9,000 grant from his uni for it. Now he’s building InternAlly, a platform that helps UK students land their first internship and lets universities see which students are about to give up. He pitched it live to the investors, and each had only 2 yeses all night. The judges weren’t worried about the product. They were worried about the size of the market. One said the market wasn’t big enough. Another said the idea was useful, but he wasn’t feeling the spark. Cris had a plan for that: society partnerships, poker tournaments, hackathons. He just didn’t get to it in his pitch. 3 investors. 3 no’s. Then came the twist. The host revealed a Moat Score of 38. Cris spoke up: “I got a 61.” The first score had been run without all of his information. With everything included, his real score was 61. The lesson isn’t “argue with the score.” It’s that investors can only judge what you show them. Leave out half your story and you get scored on half your story. The judges guessed 40 to 60. He scored 61. Thank you to our judges and to every founder who pitched. How would investors see your startup? Find out here: https://foundersmoat.com/go/moat-yout...
