MaskTogetherAmerica (MTA) invites you to watch our virtual event on October 9, 2026, where we honored three remarkable authors living with Long COVID:
— Marc Redding, author of The Day I Almost Didn’t Come Back
— Peace Waters, author of Long COVID Story Short
— Candace Taylor, author of UnMuzzled: Your Voice is a Treasure.
Each speaker courageously shares their raw, uncompromising account of an arduous journey combating Long COVID—a disease with no standard biomarkers and no cure, yet those affected experience plentiful examples of systemic discrimination, stigmatization, minimization, marginalization, and denial.
MTA advisors Sarah Cahill and Victoria Coble, who is also the founder of COVID Action GSO, emceed the three Q&A sessions. Our founding member and dedicated Long COVID advocate Dr. Marjorie Roberts opened the event with a deeply heartfelt welcome. In closing, Theresa O’Connor, a representative of the Public Health Action Network (the cosponsor of our event), introduced their mission to fight for clean air as a human right and build a community in partnership with MTA. Our founder Julie S. Lam, alongside her teammates, also spoke at the end, addressing the escalating erasures of the Long COVID crisis.
