The Mysterious Traveler - "Key Witness" (Old Time Radio, 1952)

The Mysterious Traveler presents “Key Witness,” episode 339, originally broadcast on January 15, 1952, over the Mutual Broadcasting System. This late-run crime-suspense installment features Ralph Bell and Chuck Webster, with Maurice Tarplin as the series’ familiar host and narrator. Crime boss Mike Bruno depends on mild-mannered accountant Oliver Smith to protect the syndicate’s real financial records—records Smith carries in his remarkable photographic memory. As federal Treasury investigators close in, the accountant becomes a key figure in a tightening web of pressure, danger, and hidden accounts. Written, produced, and directed by Robert A. Arthur and David Colvin. Old Time Retro Radio presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
