Chris Cooksey raised questions about a possible insurance-style arrangement tied to the Pro Motocross championship. Now the AMA’s 2027 Supercross rulebook explicitly names prediction-market trading in its betting policy. Could the new wording cover the kind of arrangement Cooksey was talking about? I break down the rule, what prediction markets are, how an outcome-based contract could work and why the timing caught my attention. I also cover the new age requirement, smaller fields, firearms sponsorship restrictions and other rule changes. The ban on indirect betting already existed. The explicit prediction-market language is the change I’m focusing on. My thoughts on why it was added are speculation; the rule does not prove Cooksey’s allegation or establish that a race was fixed. What do you think: coincidence, or a change worth asking more questions about? AMA bulletin: https://americanmotorcyclist.com/wp-c...
