Some records arrive because we love the music, while others have a special connection to the people around us. These past few days, someone close to our family has been dealing with health complications. He is a big Blondie fan, so this session is also dedicated to him. Blondie is a world-famous band whose songs continue to reach new generations. You may already know some of their hits, but I'm still discovering their discography. This record arrived from England recently, and this is my first time playing it from beginning to end for this session. Released in 1981, "The Best of Blondie" brings together different sides of the band. "Heart of Glass" first appeared on "Parallel Lines" (1978), while "The Tide Is High" was included on "Autoamerican" (1980). Then there's "Call Me", associated with the film "American Gigolo". You may have heard these songs on the radio or in a movie. But listening to them together on a physical record, from beginning to end, is a different experience. There's also an interesting difference between editions. The US version has 12 tracks, including "One Way or Another", while this UK edition has 14, including "Denis", "Picture This" and "Union City Blue". Two versions of the same compilation with different track selections. I'd love to find the US edition someday and add it to the collection. For now, let's enjoy this version and keep discovering Blondie, one song at a time. Estos últimos días, un familiar cercano ha tenido algunas complicaciones de salud, y este episodio llega en medio de ese momento. Él es un gran fanático de Blondie, así que esta sesión también va dedicada a él. Blondie es una banda mundialmente famosa, una leyenda cuyas canciones siguen sonando generación tras generación.
