Is TPOT Angst-Slop?

As TPOT has gone in a more plot heavy direction, plenty of critiques have been thrown the season's way, with angst-slop one of them used especially often on Twitter and TikTok. The word is used to cover a lot of separate issues people have with the season, and as someone who thinks the complaint isn't very strong, I want to unpack all the strangely complicated aspects of how angst-slop connects to TPOT getting more serious.
