2020 June Spider Crab Rye pier dive

Every year, thousands of Giant Spider Crabs congregate in Port Phillip Bay ahead of their annual winter moult. We took the dive at Rye pier, Melbourne. There is a newly built platform for divers entering and exiting water. The spectacle of hundreds of large orange crabs against the bare, sandy sea floor is an amazing sight.
