What do you do when you've been waiting on God for so long that you're starting to wonder if He has forgotten you? Maybe you're waiting for a diagnosis. A spouse. A job. An apology. An answer to prayer. Your phone hasn't rung. Your inbox is still empty. You've prayed the same prayer so many times that you're wondering if it's reaching heaven at all. And underneath all of it is a question we don't always say out loud: *“If God loves me, why is this taking so long?”* In Isaiah 40, God's people knew what long waiting felt like. They were exhausted and wondering whether God still saw them. But God's answer wasn't simply “try harder.” He reminded them who He is. *“The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become tired or grow weary.” — Isaiah 40:28* And then comes the promise: *“But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength.” — Isaiah 40:31* Waiting on God isn't about putting your life on pause until the answer arrives. It's about anchoring your hope in who God is while continuing to live faithfully in the day He's given you. You can keep taking the next faithful step. You can keep loving people. You can keep working. You can keep praying. You can keep living. Your waiting season does not have to become your identity. In this message, we'll talk about: • Why waiting can make you question God's love • How delay can affect the human heart • What Isaiah 40 teaches us about waiting on God • The difference between passive waiting and faithful waiting • Why comparison makes waiting harder • Why you shouldn't make a deadline an idol • How to keep living while you're waiting for an answer • How God can renew your strength in the middle of the wait • A practical “While I Wait” exercise • A prayer for anyone exhausted from waiting Before today ends, create your own *“While I Wait”* page. Write down: 1. One faithful action you can take toward what you're waiting for. 2. One life-giving activity you'll do regardless of the outcome. 3. Isaiah 40:31, and read it aloud each morning this week. The goal isn't to stop caring about the outcome. The goal is to keep living faithfully while you're waiting for it. *Waiting on God is not wasted time.* And remember: *God's delay is not His absence.* If you've quietly stopped bringing your situation to God because you're exhausted, you can come back to Him today. And if you've never trusted Jesus before, you can begin today.
