We Rode Horses to One of Kyrgyzstan’s Most Beautiful Lakes

The road to Altyn Arashan is known for being extremely difficult. Most people hire local drivers with specially prepared off-road vehicles to reach the valley. But we decided to take the challenge ourselves and drive our own cars. The distance was only about 10 kilometers, but it took us almost 7 hours to reach Altyn Arashan. The road was rough, rocky, and incredibly challenging. After reaching Altyn Arashan, we continued our journey on horseback toward the spectacular Ala-Kul Lake, deep in the Tien Shan mountains of Kyrgyzstan.
