We're ranking all 20 Premier League stadiums for the 2026/27 season, worst to best, and the pattern that emerges is almost the opposite of what the price tags suggest.
You could fit nine Bournemouth grounds inside the new Manchester United stadium. Both clubs play for the same prize money under the same television deal. But size isn't what separates the top of this list from the bottom, and neither is money. Some of the most expensive stadiums in English football still feel hollow on a big night, while a stand built in the 1920s for a sum you'd struggle to buy a car with today produces one of the most hostile atmospheres in the country.
Along the way: the club that sold its own stadium and spent two decades buying it back, the ground that paid to make its own crowd quieter, the club exiled from its own city twice, the stadium wedged so tightly between railway lines that expansion is now impossible, the freehold a billion-pound club still doesn't own, and the billion-pound rebuild currently held up by a flood wall.
There is one specific design choice shared by every ground in the top five and almost none in the bottom five. It isn't the budget. See if you can spot it before we get to number one.
Let us know in the comments which of these 20 you think is ranked wrong.
