In today’s video we discuss fall pre-emergents. Pre-emergent herbicide is an important part of a lawn’s weed prevention plan. Typically pre-emergents are seen as a crabgrass preventer, but they’re just as effective with winter weeds. I like to use pre-emergents with the active ingredient prodiamine. Prodiamine works by inhibiting the root growth of weed seeds, eventually killing them off from lack of nutrients. You should try and apply your pre-emergent before the soil temperatures in your area reach 70°.
