Onimusha: Way of the Sword - Final Boss - Minamoto no Yoshisune

The final boss battle with Yoshisune (I’m misspelling this incorrectly on purpose. YouTube flags the correct spelling because…. Yo💩sune) !! Super-fun boss, this really challenges all of your skills at once. The reflect timing and dodge timing are imperative to success especially in the 2nd and 3rd phases. I reccomend playing aggressive in the first phase and defensively in the 2nd and 3rd phases. He starts the 2nd phase the same way every time. Be ready to dodge twice in a row. Once on the initial jump down and the second on the follow up stomp attack. His moves are very similar to the 1st phase just a bit flashier. You have to break some of his armor off before you can consistently do damage to him, which is why I used the Oni Hammers to open him up 3rd phase is very much like the second in terms of moveset, the caveat being, that you can only do significant damage to him in your Oni state (purple gauge). Draining his stamina gives you tons of purple souls, as well as his ultimate move which you can Issen or (like I did) use the i-frames of the R1 weapon to do some stamina damage to him and avoid it yourself…. Once uou enter your Oni state MAKE SURE YOU GET OFF YOUR ULTIMATE R1 attack!!! It literally does 1/3 of his halth each time. I tried to do as much damage as i could before using my R1 but thats up to you just make sure you get off the ultimate each time or this will be an even longer fight!! This was maybe my 40th attempt at this boss. Don’t be discouraged. Once you recognize his tells he is not nearly as intimidating as he once was. Lastly - ignore my commentary - I listen podcasts while I game and I often respond outloud to dumb things people say on a podcast… 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ Good luck!!
