Yes, You Need To Socialize Your Homeschool Kids! Public School Teacher Turned Homeschool Mom

I know this is going against what the homeschool influencers are telling you, but.....someone has to say it. Please socialize your homeschoolers. They are human. They need connection. But please DON'T socialize them the way the school system is doing it. It's true. We need interaction. And keeping your kid home all day to only speak with their parents and siblings is kind of a problem. We need to get our kiddos out into the world, homeschooling or not. How do you make sure your homeschooler is getting enough socialization? This is going to look different for every family. Extracurriculars, co-ops, friend groups, play dates.....sooooo many different ways to get your kids interacting with others. NO they do not need to be all in one building with all the same age kids all day long. That is not natural socialization.
