Hey everyone, it's Evangeline right here at etrailer and today we have our Saris MHS light kit. More and more areas are requiring that you have auxiliary lights added to things attached to your hitch receiver. This will help out with that, but also even if it's not required, it is a nice little add-on just for extra safety when you have your bikes out and about. This light kit is designed for the Saris MHS space, whether you have the 1+1, 2+1 or 3+1 one bases. You also need to have at least a 4-way wiring harness or a plug to attach this light kit to. If you do not already have one, you can find custom fit harnesses for your vehicle available here at etrailer.com. Just like the MHS, these are gonna be a very durable light kit, even though they are an add-on, they attach to the sides of your base. Later in this video I'll show you how to get that installed. You are going to have a left and a right bar and because of how they are angled, they're designed to be used in whichever position you have your base in. So even though we have in this straight up and down position, or if you move it down to the angled compact position or even bring it down to the drive position for when your bikes are on there, this will still keep everything visible. The MHS is definitely a large system, which is great for carrying around your car, going your bikes, but not as good for visibility and even without bikes on there, you're already covering obviously your backup camera on this specific vehicle, but even a little bit of the taillights with those duo trays and this is just the 2+1 kit. You also have the 3+1 that can carry even more cargo and even more bikes adding more space behind your vehicle. So having extra taillights at the end of your system is very helpful. This also helps with keeping you safe to prevent other people from running into your items. So we're pretty clear on visibility, but whenever I deal with add-on light bars, I also think about maneuverability and durability. What does that mean Well, a lot of add-on light bars are usually a little flimsy and in the way. You can see here that as I load this bike up, I might make contact with our light kit, but that's okay because of how they're designed. Each side has a short light bracket so it doesn't take up that much space, but the space that it does take up is protected by this cover. Also where it is mounted to the base, you have this rubberized material. So there is gonna be a little bit of flex there where it can adjust to small pressure put up against it. So as you're loading up your bike or as you're taking it off, you may accidentally brush up against the light bar. You should be totally fine. Just don't be dropping extremely heavy electric bikes directly onto the bar. Because of how this connects into your 4-way plug, this mimics the lights on your vehicle. So currently we have our running lights on, but if you needed to make a turn, let's say turn on your left turn blinker, you can see how that matches up. Same as the right turn blinker and if you step on your brakes, all of it will light up. What is providing that light are gonna be these powerful LED lights, but protecting those LED lights, you have that casing that is IP67 waterproof. So even if a quick storm kicks up or maybe you're just bouncing around in puddles, you're good. The harness is included with this light kit. It's gonna be a 4-way flat to a 4-way square harness. Technically it's a plug and play system. The tricky part is gonna be running this through your base. So let's take all our bikes off and take a look at that process. To install this kit, you're gonna have pretty much everything you need. Now what I do recommend bringing to the table though is a 5 millimeter Allen key, especially one that ratchets, just makes things a lot easier that way, but not required. Now what you are gonna need to do is you're gonna need to remove the caps on the top and the bottom and then you're gonna replace those caps with the grommets included with your kit. Here's gonna be the wire that you're gonna feed through the base. Now go look for the four square side. That's what you need to go attach to the vehicle side, and then you're gonna have two plugs at the end. These are what you're going to keep up at the top of the base. It is just a straight shot down, but there a
