The Saint that Every Religion Claimed at His Funeral, our Master, Ma'ruf al-Karkhi (RA) His companions begged him to pray that God would drown a gang of drunken youths. He raised his hands and prayed for their happiness instead. What happened next changed them forever. Ma'ruf al-Karkhi was a Christian-born boy who refused to say "God is the third of three," ran from his teacher, and became one of the most loved saints of early Baghdad. He fed a dog from his own bread, returned a stolen prayer rug to the woman who took it, and at his funeral Jews, Christians and Muslims all claimed him as their own. Told through Attar's Memorial of the Saints (Tadhkirat al-Awliya), with a short historical introduction. Narrated visual story with subtitles. Which moment stayed with you? Tell me in the comments.
