Leaving my base in Omeath, I drove down to the coastal town of Carlingford to spend the afternoon completely surrounded by ancient, heavy masonry. In this video, I take a quiet, unguided wander through the town's sprawling medieval ruins. I spend my time feeling the sheer weight of Carlingford Castle, examining the defensive stone carvings at the Mint, and standing in the quiet, roofless nave of the historic Friary as nature slowly reclaims the stone. No history lessons or crowded tours today—just the raw, tactile experience of exploring centuries-old architecture on the edge of the Irish lough. 🎬 Follow the full Ireland journey here:    • Плейлист   📍 Locations explored in this video: Carlingford Castle (King John's Castle) Taaffe's Castle & the medieval streets The Mint The Tholsel (Town Gaol) The Dominican Friary 0:00 - Arriving at Carlingford Castle 0:30 - The Overgrown Exterior Walls 1:14 - Stepping Inside the Ancient Fortress 2:01 - Immersed in the Historic Masonry 3:08 - Wandering the Medieval Streets 4:25 - The Weathered Stone of the Mint 4:43 - Passing Through the Tholsel Gaol 5:32 - Discovering the Sprawling Friary Ruins 7:38 - Final Views Over Carlingford Lough
