Based on the title alone, we were genuinely terrified that either Robin or Steve wasn’t going to make it out alive — so the relief when they both came out unscathed was REAL. That said, the emotional and supernatural stakes in this episode are through the roof. One of our favorite moments is Steve finally telling Dustin the hard truth. Watching Steve call Dustin out for pushing everyone away because of Eddie’s death was powerful and long overdue. It’s raw, honest, and exactly what Dustin needed to hear — a reminder that grief doesn’t mean shutting out the people who love you. That scene hit hard. The episode also delivers a massive reveal with Dr. Kay, whose horrifying work attempting to recreate Papa’s experiments left us stunned. The idea that the trauma inflicted on Eleven is being replicated is chilling and raises terrifying questions about how deep this conspiracy goes. Meanwhile, it’s heartbreaking to see Jonathan and Nancy arguing again — we hate watching the group fracture when they need each other most. On a more hopeful note, Joyce’s unwavering support of Will continues to be one of the most beautiful threads of the season. And then there’s the moment we were absolutely NOT prepared for: Will taking over Vecna to save Max. That sequence is jaw-dropping, emotional, and completely mind-blowing — a true “screaming at the screen” moment that left us desperate for the next episode. This episode is a roller coaster of fear, emotion, and jaw-dropping reveals, and we genuinely cannot wait to see what happens next.
