Help us bring clean water to Masaani Primary School, in Kitui County

For students at Masaani Primary School, in Thitani Village, Kyome/Thaana Ward, Mwingi West Constituency, Kitui County accessing clean water is a daily challenge. The school is located in an arid and semi-arid area that experiences prolonged droughts and unreliable rainfall. When the school runs out of water, all students are sent out of class to ask their parents to provide water for cooking at school. Without enough water, the school struggles to provide meals, maintain proper hygiene and sanitation, and clean classrooms. This creates a difficult and unconducive environment for learning, making school life especially challenging for the students. The school currently has six 10,000-litre water tanks, but these supplies often run out within a month and are barely enough to meet the school's needs for cooking, cleaning, and hygiene. We are appealing for your support to raise KES 1,297,186 to construct a 104,000-litre rainwater harvesting tank. This will provide the school with a more reliable supply of clean water throughout the academic year. With the additional water, the school will also be able to expand tree planting, environmental conservation, and agricultural projects that can help supplement the school feeding programme.
