When Agnes Ng'ethe was told she needed surgery to remove one breast, her first thought was about her children. Fear made her hesitate. In 2007, she underwent surgery and continued with treatment. Today, she reflects on the joy of watching her children grow up, her husband’s reassurance and learning to feel comfortable in her body again.
In this episode of Lifeline Dialogues, Dr Mercy Korir speaks with Agnes and radiation oncologist Dr Santana about breast cancer in Kenya. The conversation explores changes in the breast that need attention, how cancer is diagnosed, treatment options, and the fears and misconceptions that can delay care.
Agnes also shares why support matters, from helping someone afford treatment to reminding them that they are still loved. Watch the full conversation and subscribe to Willow Health Media for more health discussions.
