"Trees" - Twenty One Pilots | LIVE | Riot Fest 2026

September 18, 2026. Riot Fest. I have loved “Trees” for a long time, but hearing it live is an entirely different thing. To me, Trees has always sounded like a prayer from somebody who knows God is there but desperately wants to feel His nearness. It is that strange place between faith and longing—knowing Someone is in the trees, knowing He sees you, and still crying out, “I want to know You.” That is one of the reasons Twenty One Pilots means so much to me. Their music doesn't pretend that faith, fear, loneliness, doubt, joy, depression, hope, and the desire to stay alive all exist in separate little boxes. Sometimes they all exist inside the same person at the exact same time. Trees understands that. And live, it somehow becomes something even bigger. You look around and realize thousands of people are screaming the same words. Different stories. Different wounds. Different reasons for being there. But for a few minutes, everybody understands the same ache. That is what Twenty One Pilots does so incredibly well. Emotional honesty doesn't have to become emotional loneliness. I've described their music before as almost like **the Psalms wearing a hoodie**. Not Scripture. Not a replacement for Christ. But sometimes a battlefield hymn for people who are still alive, still fighting, still searching, and still looking upward. Trees might be the clearest example of that for me. There is something beautiful about thousands of people essentially crying out together: I know You're there. I want to know You. I want to see You. And then the music explodes. I've listened to Trees more times than I could ever count. But on September 18, 2026, I finally got to stand there and hear it LIVE.
