In this gathering, we explore the quiet stories that can form early in life and then become the lens through which we experience ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. My needs don’t matter. I’m not enough. Something is wrong with me. I’m not safe. It’s better if I stay small. We may never consciously think these words. And yet a belief can quietly influence what we notice, what we expect, how we feel, and how we respond. This creates a powerful loop: *we believe something, our mind begins looking for evidence of it, our behavior adapts around it, and eventually our life appears to confirm what we already believed.* But years of collecting evidence for a belief does not make the belief true. Sometimes the more useful question is not: *Why does this keep happening to me?* but: *What must I believe to keep experiencing life this way?* That question invites us out of blame and into curiosity. What story have I been living inside of? Where did it come from? How has it shaped the way I show up? Does it still belong to me? And is it actually true? Awareness may not immediately change the circumstances of our lives. *It changes the observer.* And when the observer changes, what we notice begins to change. What we notice influences what we feel. What we feel influences how we respond. And slowly, the life we experience begins to change. Perhaps awareness isn’t the end of the story. *Perhaps it is the beginning of authorship.* Your brain isn’t committed to the truth. It is committed to what is familiar.
