From Chiajna to Crângași 🇷🇴 | Nature Walk Along Lacul Morii 🌿

Join me for a relaxing nature walk from **Chiajna to Crângași**, following the Dâmbovița River and the southern shore of **Lacul Morii**, the largest lake in Bucharest. 🌿🇷🇴 The walk begins at **Gate 5 of the Chiajna Promenade (Promenada Comunei Chiajna)**, on the western side of the route. From here, I follow the promenade through a surprisingly green and peaceful landscape, passing through and around the wooded areas near Roșu before gradually making my way towards Lacul Morii. Once I reach the lake, the walk continues along its southern shore, including the **new 1.3 km Lacul Morii promenade completed in 2026**. This newly developed waterfront area offers a very different side of Bucharest, with open views across the lake, greenery and long stretches away from the busy streets of the city. From there, I continue towards the eastern end of Lacul Morii, passing the **Ciurel Dam and the Dâmbovița River**, before reaching the familiar Lacul Morii promenade in **Crângași**. This is the best-known part of the lake, with its long elevated promenade and wide views over the water, accessible directly from **Crângași Park**.
