Roofing our Traditional Gazebo & Preparing a Super Tasty African Meal

Welcome back to our African village home for a beautifully busy day filled with teamwork and delicious aromas! Today, the men, Papa Kityo, Allan, and Mzee Kidomole worked hard under the sun to roof our brand-new traditional gazebo with natural reeds, showcasing building skills passed down through generations. Meanwhile, the outdoor kitchen was buzzing as Mama Kityo, alongside her friend and neighbor Mama Shifra plus Cathy, prepared a mouth-watering feast for the workers featuring steamed matooke, fluffy rice, and a rich, savory mushroom-pasted luwombo carefully prepared in banana leaves. Throughout it all, the kids brought the heartbeat of the village to life by helping fetch reeds for the men, lending a hand to their mothers by the fire, and filling the entire compound with their joyful playing and singing.
