I Gave It All Away to Move to Panama at 58 | 3 Lessons in 24 Hours

I sold my house, sold my BMW, gave away beautiful furniture—including my hand-hammered Italian bed—and moved to Panama at 58! 🇵🇦 But just 24 hours into my new life, God is already teaching me three powerful lessons about releasing the past, embracing change, and living with gratitude. Today, I'm sharing three life lessons from my first 24 hours living in Panama. ❤️ LESSON 1: RELEASE Sometimes we have to release what was so we can fully receive what is to come. Leaving America meant letting go of a beautiful home, my car, and possessions I treasured. But I realized that I couldn't fully embrace my next chapter while holding tightly to my previous one. And yes, that included giving away my beautiful queen-sized Italian bed! At this stage of life, I'm ready for a king-sized bed—and all the room that comes with it! 😂 ❤️ LESSON 2: FLEXIBILITY & ADAPTABILITY My first meeting with my Panama immigration attorney brought some unexpected news. Upcoming holidays and government office closures may delay my residency paperwork, and the apartment building I've been dreaming about currently has no suitable units available. My carefully planned timeline is already changing! But I'm learning that just because things aren't happening according to my schedule doesn't mean they're not happening according to God's perfect timing. ❤️ LESSON 3: GRATITUDE This morning, I woke up to a breathtaking sunrise over Panama. I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for this opportunity, this new season, and God's faithfulness. I also thought about my beautiful mother and how I'm here continuing a dream we started together. What a gift to experience this next chapter while carrying her love and memory with me. The greatest lesson? Sometimes the most beautiful chapters of our lives begin when we're willing to release the previous ones.
