Summer Winds

Summer Winds 2006 © VOLTAGE BLUE Sunlight dancing on the gravel road Carrying a heavy summer load Radio is humming something low Watching all the corn and clover grow Old blue Chevy with the rusted door Living like we never did before Windows down to catch the evening breeze Living life with such a perfect ease Catch the glow of evening light Chasing down the coming night Running wild through summer heat Dancing down a dusty street Nothing stops this youthful heart This is where all stories start Friday lights are shining from the field To the magic only summer yields Barefoot running through the tall green grass Watching all the heavy shadows pass Small town secrets in a mason jar Wishing on a bright and lucky star We were kings of every dirt-road bend Knowing that the fun would never end Catch the glow of evening light Chasing down the coming night Running wild through summer heat Dancing down a dusty street Nothing stops this youthful heart This is where all stories start Time moves fast like a river stream Caught inside a beautiful dream But if I close my eyes, I’m still there With the summer wind in my hair Running wild through summer heat Dancing down a dusty street Nothing stops this youthful heart This is where all stories start
