Refuting the “Qutbi” Accusations Against Shaykh Abdullah al-Jarbūʿ This video is a response to the slanderous accusations made against Shaykh Abdullah al-Jarbūʿ, in which he was falsely labelled a “Qutbi” without any sound proof being presented. The accuser claims that he does not speak against anyone unless a senior scholar has preceded him in speaking against that person. Yet, when it comes to Shaykh Abdullah al-Jarbūʿ, where is the senior scholar who preceded him in making these accusations? Furthermore, this is not an isolated case. He has repeatedly attacked and criticized scholars, including Shaykh Abdullah al-Jarbūʿ, Shaykh Ayman al-Anqari, Shaykh Abdullah bin Zayd al-Musallam, and now even Shaykh Salih al-Fawzan. At the same time, he claims that Shaykh al-Fawzan does not understand the issue of Irjāʾ—while his own methodology and statements contradict the very principle he claims to uphold. The contradiction becomes even clearer when we examine the relationship between his “senior scholars” and those whom he himself regards as Imams and authorities in al-Jarḥ wa al-Taʿdīl. His own scholars have been refuted and warned against by those very authorities whom he appeals to. So the question remains: How can he demand consistency from others while refusing to apply the same standard to the scholars he follows?
