Yes, religion is a myth crafted by story telling, convincing us away from reality, making a terrible man like Wicks powerful. But is reality, cold hard truth, truly what’s best for us? After all, Blanc uses it as a means to bolster his own self worth, a defined right and wrong that always devalues one, and leaves us with a boring world where objects are meaningless. What if there was a third way, something in between, where the story doesn’t convince us away from reality, but rather gives us the strength to face it?
