Japan Wants Skilled Immigrants… But Won’t Pay Skilled Salaries? 🇯🇵

Japan has a problem: Not enough workers. So the solution seems obvious: “We need more skilled immigrants!” But there’s another question Japan needs to ask: Why would highly skilled workers choose Japan? Japan: “We want the best talent!” Skilled worker: “Great! How much do you pay?” Japan: “……NEXT QUESTION.” 😂 Japan has many advantages: safety, great infrastructure, amazing food, public transportation, and a high quality of life. But skilled workers also care about salary, career opportunities, working conditions, and language. And Japan isn’t the only country competing for global talent. That changes the immigration debate. It’s not only: “Which immigrants should Japan choose?” It’s also: “Will skilled immigrants choose Japan?” Because Japan may be interviewing immigrants… but immigrants are interviewing Japan too. 😂 How about your country?
