When you get to Heaven

[Verse 1] When the lights go dim and the curtain falls When the last breath leaves and silence calls When the pain shuts up and the noise is gone When you step through the gate you’ve been dreaming on [Pre-Chorus] No clouds, no harps, no pearly white Just you standing there in blinding light [Chorus] When you get to heaven, who will you look for first? Who’s the face you’ve been carrying since it hurt? When you get to heaven, who will you look for first? The ones you loved… or the ones you cursed? [Verse 2] Will you scan the crowd for your mother’s eyes? Or the kid you lost in a hospital night? Will you chase the ghost of the love that got away? Or the father who left on a rainy day? [Pre-Chorus] No angels singing, no judgment day Just the weight of the names you couldn’t save [Chorus] When you get to heaven, who will you look for first? Who’s the one you rehearsed this moment for? When you get to heaven, who will you look for first? The ones you loved… or the ones you hurt? [Bridge] (spoken/sung softer, almost broken) And what if nobody’s there? What if the sky is empty and bare? What if the only one waiting… Is the person you couldn’t bear? [Final Chorus] (bigger, raw, emotional) When you get to heaven, who will you look for first? Will they even recognize you after all the years of thirst? When you get to heaven, tell me who you’ll look for first Before this life is over… Before this life is over… [Outro] (soft, fading) When you get to heaven… Who will you look for first? #music #progrock #whenyougettoheaven #suno
