How to Play Bell Bottom Blues | Eric Clapton Guitar Lesson

How to Play Bell Bottom Blues | Eric Clapton Guitar Lesson Here's how to play Bell Bottom Blues, a song written by Eric Clapton and Bobby Whitlock, performed by the band Derek and the Dominos. Marty Schwarz did a tutorial on this song unplugged, so I'll focus on the solo in this Eric Clapton guitar lesson. It deals with Clapton's unrequited love for Pattie Boyd, the wife of his friend George Harrison, and appears on the 1970 double album Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs. "Bell Bottom Blues" was recorded before Duane Allman joined the recording sessions for the Layla album, so Clapton is the only guitarist on the song. Clapton’s solo might not be “fiery”, but it has George Harrison’s sensitivity in it and some beautiful and difficult clean pinch harmonics.
