Pakistan Cricket has finally reached the point where the “major surgery” has begun. 🇵🇰💔 After Pakistan’s disastrous performance against England and a humiliating 2–0 series defeat, the PCB has reportedly taken some major and unexpected decisions ahead of the Birmingham Test. Mohammad Rizwan is reportedly being sent back to Pakistan on the first available flight, while Imam-ul-Haq is also set to return amid his calf injury and questions surrounding his fitness. Reports also suggest that T20 captain Salman Ali Agha is being sent back to Pakistan. And that’s not all… Six new players have been called up for the Birmingham Test, with young opener Saim Ayub among the names expected to join the squad. Arafat Minhas and Abdullah Fazal are also among the players reportedly called up. The PCB is clearly trying something different after Pakistan’s disastrous batting performances in England. But the biggest question remains: Is this really the surgery Pakistan Cricket needed… or is it simply another temporary reaction to a crisis? Mohsin Naqvi and the PCB have finally taken a major step. Whether it turns out to be the RIGHT step — only time will tell.
