Zoom PodTrak P4 - Line Out Port For Using A Smartphone For Filming & Recording Audio? How To Guide!

Want to use your smartphone connected to the PodTrak P4 for filming yourself and recording audio? Yes you can via the headphone-in port and I demonstrate how to do this step by step. Sometimes audio geeks will tell me that using the headphone-in method is not "pure" for recording ideal audio quality due to the inferior quality of the headphone-in preamp, blah, blah. I've heard that enough times, so I am aware of this, it's not necessary for anyone to make a comment on that. Regardless, the method I'm demonstrating in this video works fine. Judge for yourself the audio quality using the headphone-in method starting at time stamp of 16:26. I personally think the audio quality is decent and usable going into the smartphone. Note that this is a 2 part video. First half of the video and audio is from the main camera and microphone. Second half of the video is from the smartphone camera and secondary microphone. Entire video and audio is the raw unprocessed file with zero post processing applied. I did NOT do any "post synching" of audio by swapping out audio from the smartphone camera video to the camcorder video. Instead I inserted the video & audio footage from the smartphone into the 2nd half of this entire video. See time stamps below for when the 2nd half begins. BTW: I noticed I had the cheap smartphone in the wrong setting whereby the video image is reversed left to right (or right to left?), but that has no affect on the audio recorded. I have since corrected this image setting on the phone camera.
