In 1977, AC/DC were the opening act on a European tour with Black Sabbath, and by the time it ended, they had been kicked off for good. Black Sabbath were exhausted, strung out, and coming apart at the seams. AC/DC were five broke Australians whose American label had just rejected their record, and who walked out every night determined to blow the headliner off the stage. The tension finally boiled over in a hotel bar, where Geezer Butler pulled a flick knife on Malcolm Young. Nearly fifty years later, the people who were actually there still cannot agree on what happened. Malcolm, Geezer, Angus, and former AC/DC bassist Mark Evans have all told different versions of that night, in interviews decades apart.
