This release is a special challenge project created to find a real vocalist who would like to bring Snødans ved Kysten to life. 👉 Full details about the challenge:    • Запись   Eira Solberg is a virtual Nordic vocalist created specifically for this project. The vocal you hear is AI-generated and was created exclusively for this challenge as a musical reference ;). AI vocals are not part of the official Vinterdrommer portfolio. In this project, AI is simply a tool I used to demonstrate the vocal concept I have in mind for the song. I created this version to demonstrate how I imagine the song being sung — including the melody, pitch, phrasing, dynamics and the overall vocal character I am looking for. I am NOT looking for someone to imitate Eira’s voice. Quite the opposite. I want to hear what a real human vocalist can bring to the song through their own voice, character and interpretation. A human vocalist brings something AI cannot reproduce in quite the same way: the personality of a voice. The breath, subtle imperfections, natural vibrato, the way vowels are shaped, the emotion, the tension — all of these things can make a human performance less “perfect,” but much more alive. For this demonstration, I also used subtle vocal layering to create a gentle, atmospheric texture inspired by the kind of sound you can hear in Enya’s music. This technique is present here in a more restrained form, while you may also recognize it, to a greater or lesser extent, in some of my collaborations with Lisette. In selected parts of the song, I used artificial double tracking more noticeably, creating the impression of two vocal performances singing together. This adds extra depth and width to those particular moments without making the effect too prominent throughout the entire track. These are simply tools used to demonstrate the musical idea. The final mix and mastering are entirely on me. THE CHALLENGE I am looking for one vocalist who would like to sing this song in English. The reference version you hear here is sung in Norwegian, but you do not need to sing it in Norwegian. Unless, of course, someone wants to enter MASTER LEVEL and take on the Norwegian version. ;) If you decide to take part, I will provide the chosen vocalist with: • the instrumental version • an English vocal reference • the lyrics • everything needed to understand the intended vocal performance What I need in return is a clean, noise-reduced vocal recording with good timing, so I can naturally align the performance with the instrumental. By “good timing,” I mean that the vocal phrases should be recorded closely enough to the intended rhythm and timing of the reference that I can align them naturally with the instrumental — without having to completely rebuild the performance through editing. I will take care of the rest. Editing, vocal processing, mixing and mastering are my responsibility. Once the final version is completed and approved by the vocalist, they will be welcome to publish the finished song on their own channel and credit it as a collaboration with Vinterdrommer. WHO CAN TAKE PART? Everyone. Subscribers and non-subscribers. You do not have to be a subscriber to take part. The challenge is open to anyone who feels that their voice could bring something special to this song. I actually spent quite a lot of time thinking about whether I should make this public, because I normally do not use AI vocals in the Vinterdrommer portfolio. But this is different. The purpose here is not to present an AI vocalist as the artist. The purpose is to use AI as a musical sketch — a way to communicate an idea that would be difficult to explain with words alone. Now I want to see if there is a real human voice out there that can bring this song to life. The challenge is open. Maybe your voice is the one this song has been waiting for. Take the challenge.
