Why I Let My Kids Catch Me Being Wrong

What happens when your child realizes… Mom is wrong? If you homeschool long enough, it’s going to happen. You’ll get the answer wrong, misuse a word, forget a grammar rule, or discover that something you’ve believed for years simply isn’t true. And your kids will probably be delighted to point it out. But those moments can become some of the most valuable lessons we teach. In this video, I talk about why I believe our children need to see us learning, receiving correction, and apologizing. Homeschooling gives us a unique opportunity to model what it looks like to be wrong without being ashamed, to take good instruction without letting hurtful words define us, and to keep learning no matter how old we are. You don’t have to know everything before you homeschool your children. Sometimes the lesson you’re learning alongside them is more important than the one in the textbook. Come on in.
