I don’t even think I did a great job entirely because there is so much lore packed in here in addition to the difficult pacing. I feel like I especially need to explain that I way oversimplified the line “if you lie then better peirce into your own eye” as it’s likely referencing the old idiom. (Funny enough, both English and Japanese have a similar saying!) The English one, which is more likely the reference, is “Cross my heart and hope to die, stick a needle in my eye” and Japanese is “Whoever lies will be made to swallow a thousand needles”. In another part, I wanted to reference the ouroboros nature in the song, thus the “tail that I gotta bite” but I’m not sure if it came out too vague. Anyway, there are a lot of small parts I wish I could’ve found a better balance with, but sometimes you just do your best and hope that it encourages others to dive into the lore for themselves.
