🎸 KUDZU — Full Album | [1971] | Southern Rock "Push back anyway." A lost record from the deep South — twin harmony guitars, slide, Hammond B3 and gospel piano, cut in a hot room with the tape running and nobody in a hurry. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 💿 OWN THE ALBUM — WAV + MP3, cover art and full lyric sheet: [Fourthwall link] ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ───────────────────────────── 🎵 THE RECORD ───────────────────────────── 00:00 — Kudzu 03:08 — Hurricane Season 06:08 — The Sheriff's Brother 10:01 — My Brother's Truck 12:47 — Two Rivers Bridge 17:09 — Tobacco Money 20:12 — Sunday After the Funeral 23:20 — Down to the Gulf ───────────────────────────── 🔊 ABOUT THIS ALBUM ───────────────────────────── Eight songs from the back roads and the county lines. A vine planted for erosion control in 1938 that now takes a foot a day and has swallowed a farmhouse whole, chimney sticking out the top of it like something drowning. A man driving his dead brother's pickup with the church key still in the ashtray, fourteen months and he hasn't moved it. A file at the courthouse with nothing in it, and a whole county full of decent people who let it stand. A bridge everybody jumped off every summer, including the August after Danny Fisher went off it wrong. And at the end, eleven minutes of a four-hour drive to the Gulf that a father made twice a year for thirty years without missing one — and a son who does the driving now. Voiced after the twin-guitar weight of the Allman Brothers, the swagger of early Skynyrd, and the long unhurried jams of the Southern circuit. This is an original composed work created in the style of 1970s Southern rock. All compositions are original. ───────────────────────────── 🏷️ TAGS ───────────────────────────── #southernrock #70srock #lostalbum #vintagerock #classicrock #bluesrock #rootsrock #americanrock #fullalbum #vinyl #70smusic #slideguitar #twinguitar #jamrock #hammondorgan
